The design concept is old world Spanish meets modern times. We wanted it to have classical element throughout and show that in the art, accent lighting and the millwork of the bar with its arch and detailing and several areas for tall displays of the collections of wines, then mix that with the modernized furniture and white oak wall panels behind these millwork and art pieces that to marries the two together and blends the two times seamlessly. The space has a brighter overall feel with the lighter wood panels contrasted with deep warm accent colours to cozy up the space. Lots of texture in the fabrics and woven wall. A beautiful, centralized feature U-shaped bar in the middle anchors the space and the traditional sculptured, custom blown glass chandlier over center.
We have another organic custom light fixture that covers the main dining area. It is a metal mesh that we sprayed with paint to fill in some holes and give it a softer feel. We formed into lots of individual lights grouped together. Three large traditional images in the paintings are of realistic portraits of La Bailadoras with a modern technique of it wearing away the edges with torn netting, with an antique frame.
